Spring Skin Care

During the winter months you may have struggled with skin dryness and redness. Now it is time to allow your skin to wake up and shine. Put away the heavy creams and bring out gels, mild cleansers and sunscreen. Heavy moisturizers will begin to feel sticky and can promote more acne in some. Opt for a lighter moisturizer that allows your skin to be hydrated and still feel soft. A water based gel is great for hydration. Try a serum infused with Vit C. The antioxidant properties of Vit C will help with sun damage in the summer months.

Here in San Diego it is always sunscreen time. Choose a  SPF 30 sunscreen with Zinc and Titanium. Brands like Coppertone and Banana Boat may not have these ingredients.

You don’t have to spend a fortune on skincare. More expensive does not signify better quality. Try brands like Eucerin, Cerave, and Cetaphil. If you want to splurge try  brands like Clinique and Este Lauder, or go to your local Ulta Beauty and get exactly what you need. We offer Rejuvity from Isagenix that helps to hydrate and remove toxins.

Despite all this, some of you may have more sunspots develop during the hot months. You’ll notice more changes on the left side of your face from driving and on your hands from steering. Reapply sunscreen frequently and remember that a sunscreen in makeup is not enough to protect you all day.

If you develop those unwanted sun spots an IPL ( intense Pulsed Light) also known as a photofacial will help to remove them. At Eros Beauty and Wellness we use the Candela Elos IPL to bring out that natural glow hiding beneath the spots. Depending on the extent of sun-damage people will require 3 to 5 treatments with minimal down time mild discomfort. Call for your consultation.
