Juvéderm® Dermal Fillers With Vycross Technology

Traditionally, Juvéderm® fillers have been one size molecules with different densities. Now the
Vycross technology has added different sized molecules in the same gels to give different
consistency and flexibility. The fillers are all made of hyaluronic acid that stimulates collagen
growth and brings in fluid to the treated area, given the skin a fuller look. The new fillers have
more flexibility in the face, neck and hands to work with the skin and move with it. They also
will tend to last up to 16 months vs 9 to 12 months of some other fillers.

Juvéderm® Voluma XC: This Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler is perfect for deep lines and significant volume loss, especially in the cheeks. It is given as a deep injection to give strength to the tissues.

Juvéderm® Vollure XC: This filler is wonderful to diminish the nasolabial folds and improve cheeks and more. The Vycross technology allows it to move with your skin, therefore not giving it that “plastic” look.

Juvéderm® Volbella XC: This is the softest of all the HA gels and it is great for the lips and under the eyes. The quality of the filler decreases the risk of lumps, bruising and swelling. The use of cannulas for gel delivery further makes the procedure easier with minimal bruising, pain, swelling and less risk of arterial damage.

Cannulas Versus Needles

Dermal fillers are most commonly injected using a 27 to 32 gauge needle. The needles are perfect for getting into places that are difficult to inject. But they can also cause bruising, swelling and pain. When injecting a filler one can almost always expect swelling, bleeding and bruising. The swelling can last a few days. More severe consequences of a filler injection include injecting into anartery that could potentially block the blood flow to the area of the skin causing necrosis or worse, blindness.

To avoid significant side effects and always keeping the patient’s safety and comfort in mind, we at Eros Beauty and Wellness, like to incorporate cannulas into our regimen. Cannulas are blunt tipped needles that cause less bruising, pain and swelling than regular needles. They are also less likely to damage arteries, therefore the risk of skin necrosis and blindness is significantly decreased. The cannulas are usually longer than needles making it easier to access hard to reach places.

Both needles and cannulas are used depending on the procedure. We think you will really appreciate the comfort of both.

Am I a candidate?

People 21 years and older are candidates for fillers. A filler can be used preventively to diminish future volume loss.

What can I expect?

Any filler injection can cause pain at the site of the injection with bruising, swelling and redness. These side effects are less using cannulas.

  • Do not do strenuous exercise for 24 hours or bend and lift heavy objections.
  • Ice if needed.
  • Avoid wearing make-up for 8 to 24 hours.
  • Do use your moisturizer and sunscreen.

What Benefits Can I Expect After Treatment?

Results of a filler injection can be seen immediately, but it continues to improve with time.  Your collagen will be recruited and the area will have more fluid.

“I have been going to Dr. Eros for Botox® and facial fillers for about a year now. She has a large well appointed office with a friendly knowledgable staff. Dr. Eros continually provides solid results with great pricing. She always has a light touch, never leaves any bruising on me, and most importantly my Juvéderm® always looks well balanced and even. I have been to many other beauty clinics and not experienced the same positive results I consistently receive from Dr. Eros and her staff.”
