Radiesse® is a calcium hydroxylapatite microsphere that resembles calcium in the body. It is used to fill in the loss of volume in the face and restore youth to the hands. Radiesse® works to stimulate collagen and give a youthful look. The results can be seen immediately.
Radiesse® is delivered to the face and hands by way of an injection. For comfort, a local anesthetic can be given, but often times none is needed. A person can expect some swelling and occasional bruising. The swelling can last 24 hours.
RADIESSE is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier.
Once injected, it provides immediate volume and correction but continues to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen.
Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres leaving behind only your own natural collagen.

San Diego Radiesse® Injections- FAQs
Am I a candidate for Radiesse® Treatment?
Any healthy adult 21 yrs and older is eligible for Radiesse®. For best results it is important to not be a smoker and drink minimal alcohol.
What can I expect from Radiesse® Treatment?
Radiesse® treatment is done to enhance the areas on the face that have lost volume and elasticity. The microspheres work with the skin’s collagen to regain that fullness. It can cause swelling that will resolve in 24 hours. Bruising may take up to a week to resolve depending on the person. Some may notice little lumps where the filler has been placed and these too resolve as it is integrated with the skin’s dermal layers.
What benefits can I expect from Radiesse® Treatment?
You can see results immediately after treatment and improvement continues over time. People may need touch ups in 8 months to a year depending on the person. With continued treatment you will experience a more youthful look overall.
Are There Any Activity Restrictions After a Radiesse® Treatment?
Most patients feel ready to resume their normal daily schedules immediately after getting Radiesse® injections in San Diego, including returning to work. However, Dr. Eros recommends you avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your treatment. That’s because working out can increase the blood flow to your face, which may cause any residual swelling to appear more pronounced. Light exercise, such as a gentle walk around your neighborhood, is OK, but please don’t overexert yourself. Resting for 24 hours should give you plenty of time to return to the gym after your treatment.
How Long Will My Radiesse® Appointment Take?
Radiesse® injections are a brief, nearly painless appointment that takes place in the comfort of our San Diego office. We can have you in and out in less than an hour, which is ideal for fitting treatment into today’s busy lifestyles.
How Long Can I Expect My Radiesse® Results to Last?
Compared to other dermal fillers whose results may be shorter-lived, the effects of Radiesse® can last a year or more, depending on the extent of your aging in the areas you choose to have treated. This longevity, along with its ability to provide natural-looking results without surgery, has caused many patients to request Radiesse® by name.
How Much Does Radiesse® Cost in San Diego?
Your treatment’s total price tag will depend on how many units of Radiesse® Dr. Eros will need to help you achieve your goals. She can give you a more accurate estimate of your Radiesse® treatment cost after meeting you, evaluating your skin quality, and asking you questions about your expectations for treatment.
Where’s the Best Place to Get Radiesse® in San Diego?
The popularity of dermal fillers and other minimally invasive anti-aging solutions continues to grow each year. Unfortunately, this high demand has led many less-than-qualified people to jump on the bandwagon and begin advertising their services as providers of Radiesse®, Botox®, and similar products. Instead of getting Radiesse® injections at a beauty salon or day spa, always trust your looks to a trained medical doctor. Dr. Eros uses her extensive knowledge of medicine to provide the safest possible outcomes without creating an artificial or “overdone” appearance. Contact us today to schedule your consultation.
