What Causes Facial Veins and Leg Veins?
Spider veins or reticular veins are formed because of genetics, sun exposure, or excessive pressure to the area. These veins are commonly seen in the face, typically around the nose and cheeks, and are often the results of too much sun exposure, or in some cases, a condition called rosacea. Spider veins on the legs develop from pressure applied to the venous system by way of standing for long hours, increased weight, aging, and genetics.
How Elite Plus Laser Works
For spider vein and reticular vein removal, Elite+™ uses two wavelength 1064 nm Nd: YAG and 755 nm Alexandrite to target hemoglobin in the skin. These options in wavelengths allow treatment of various skin types. Using a selective wavelength, it targets the vessels, heats up, and causes coagulation of the blood and vessels. The vessels are then reabsorbed, leaving the skin smooth and clear.
What to Expect from Your Elite Plus Laser Vein Treatment?
Before the Elite+™ Laser Treatment, you’ll be given protective goggles to wear to guard your eyes against the lasers. For your comfort, we will use a cooling system attached to the laser.
During your treatment, the laser will slowly target individual vessels until they are completely treated. You may feel a warm snap like a rubber band on your skin, but the cooling system will keep you comfortable. Treatment times vary for each individual person and can last 30 minutes to an hour.
What to Expect After Your Treatment?
After the treatment you may see blanching or darkening of the vessels treated. For spider veins in the legs, it’s important to keep your legs elevated for 24 hours after your procedure to achieve the best results from your treatment. This allows your body to reabsorb the vessels, otherwise the ongoing pressure of walking may cause the vessels to remain. Hyperpigmentation is caused by an increase of melanin in the skin. Melanin is a natural pigment that gives the skin, hair, and eyes their color. A number of factors can trigger an increase in melanin production, but the main concerns are sun exposure, hormonal influxes, age, and skin injury or inflammation due to acne. Sun exposure is the number one cause of hyperpigmentation as sunlight is what triggers the production of melanin. Melanin acts as your skin’s natural sunscreen, protecting you from harmful UV rays, but excessive sun exposure without sun protection can lead to hyperpigmentation. What to Expect During Your Elite Plus Laser Skin Treatment?
Elite+™ has been FDA-approved and deemed safe to use on most types of skin types and tones. During your treatment, you’ll be given protective goggles to wear to guard your eyes against the lasers.. For your comfort, we use a cooling system attached to the laser. We also provide numbing medicine to make you more comfortable.
You will feel a pulsing sensation with heat as the handpiece is moved along the area treated. The laser will target pigmented lesions. Treatment can be 20 minutes to 45 minutes in length.
What to Expect After Your Treatment?
After one treatment of Elite+™, you’ll notice pigmentation begin to fade.
Results can be seen after just one treatment of Elite+™ for dark spots, sunspots and hyperpigmentation. The direct laser will break down the melanin in the skin, allowing the body to absorb the pigmentation and leave you with a clear, radiant complexion. Elite Plus Technology and How It Works
The Elite+™ Laser System has dual wavelength to treat most skin types. The laser heats the hair follicle and makes it unable to grow. It damages the pigmented hair follicle. Because the hair has several growth cycles multiple treatments are required to target all the follicles.

What to Expect during Your Treatment?
Prior to your procedure it is important to make sure all areas are freshly shaved. This will allow for effective energy delivery of the laser device to your hair follicles, thus providing a more effective treatment. During the treatment, the device will be moved over the area delivering light energy. We use a cooling system for comfort. You will also hear a slight beep as the laser delivers this energy into your skin. It is normal to feel a slight snapping like a rubber band as the energy is being delivered. We also will pretreat the area with numbing cream.
What To Expect After The Treatment?
You may notice thinning of hair or slower regrowth with each treatment. The treated area may be mildly red after the treatment, but this resolves the same day.
