Chemical Peels

Now that Summer has come to an end it is the perfect time to try a chemical peel. The chemical peels are great for improving skin texture, removing sun spots and reducing fine lines. They are also commonly used to treat acne and melasma.

Chemical peels can be mild, moderate or deep, meaning how strongly they impact the skin surface.

Deep chemical peels are used with caution, as they can be painful and cause unwanted hyperpigmentation and scarring.

At Eros Beauty And Wellness we use mild to moderate peels. Jessner is a mild peel that is perfect for sun spots and melasma. The frequency of the treatments is determined by the reason for the peel. Melasma is difficult to treat and often requires ongoing care with lightening creams and peels. A person may need three or more peels every three weeks along with a hydroquinone, azelaic acid, Kojic acid or niacinamide. The last three agents mentioned can be found in Environ products that we carry, Mela-Fade.

Salicylic acid peels are good for sun spots, fine lines and acne. These can be a part of regular acne care.

TCA(trichloroacetic acid) peels are strong and work on sun spots, fine lines, skin texture, acne and melasma. This peel is a moderate peel and can become a deep peel depending on its application. People with darker skin tones need to be very cautious when doing this peel. It can lead to blotchiness and hyperpigmentation. If the peel is done slowly and is followed by consistent SPF 30 with zinc afterwards, the outcome will be exciting. Call for a free consultation to discuss further.

Lip Fillers

Why Fillers?
I get a lot of questions about lip filler; decreasing wrinkles on the lip, making them fuller and making them look more youthful.  Your lips are such an important part of your appearance and expressions, of course you want the best for them.

What is Restylane® Kysse?

Here at Eros Beauty and Wellness I like to use Restylane® Kysse to bring fullness and youth to your lips. The filler is comprised of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is found in the skin for structure and function.  It helps to bring fluid into the area. The special cross-linking technology helps the hyaluronic acid to last, holding the lip’s shape longer.

What to expect from a Filler procedure?

The procedure is simple. I ask people to come in a little earlier than their appointment to apply a little bit of numbing cream. Some may choose to have a dental block with lidocaine to make the procedure more comfortable. Then a small needle is used to deposit tiny amounts of filler along the lips, maintaining its natural form while bringing fullness to the upper and lower lip.  The filler is divided between the upper and lower lip to give the dimensions of ⅓  and ⅔ respectively.

Aftercare for your filler?

Once completed the filler can last between six to eight months. I advise not to use a straw, kiss heavily or place pressure on the lips until a couple of days after the procedure. These things can distort the filler.
