An Easy Nighttime Skincare Routine for Busy Moms

The life of a mother has been compared to that of having three full-time jobs. From 6 a.m. wake-up calls, to making sure everyone is fed, taken to school, to grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, cooking, planning, and prepping, the last thing you want to do at the end of the day is add on an eight-step nighttime skincare routine.

My name is Dr. Christine Eros, and I’m a board-certified family physician and skin specialist at Eros Beauty and Wellness. As a full-time physician, I can understand and sympathize with busy schedules. That is why I have composed these four primary steps to keep your skin looking fresh, clear, and rejuvenated that can be easily integrated into your busy life.

The Importance of a Nighttime Skincare Routine

Before I jump into this simplified beauty routine, it’s essential to explain why taking 5-10 minutes before bed to take care of your skin is so valuable. Our skin is a finely tuned, well-constructed system and is on a schedule very much like we are. At night, when we are sedentary, our skin begins the hard work of repairing itself, producing more collagen, flushing out bacteria, and turning over dead cells with new cells.

At Eros Beauty and Wellness, I have partnered with the esteemed skincare brand Environ, a globally recognized brand that uses vitamin A to rejuvenate and refresh distressed or dry skin. During our consultation together, I will examine your skin, listen to your concerns, and help you come up with a tailored routine that will help you reach your goals.

Cleanse

This might seem like an obvious step, but it can be all too easy at the end of the night to skip the cleansing and go right to the next step, especially if you didn’t wear any makeup or if you feel like your skin isn’t particularly dirty. Our skin is constantly pushing out harmful bacteria throughout the day that come out of pores as oil or sebum. Cleansing your skin with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser will help purify your pores, remove dead skin cells, and keep your skin clear.

Serum

What’s the difference between a serum and a moisturizer, you may be wondering? The answer is serums are a much thinner consistency than your cream or gel moisturizers which allows them to penetrate deeper into your skin’s layers to help repair lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, scarring, and lackluster skin. Apply a serum that fits your specific skincare concerns by gently patting it into your skin after cleansing.

Need a serum recommendation? Ask about Environ’s Vita-Peptide C-Quence Serum 1 to help combat the effects of free radicals, firm and smooth skin, and rehydrate with Vitamin A and E.

Moisturize

Where serums do their work on the second layer of your skin, moisturizers do all their work on the top. A good moisturizer can help keep your skin supple and moisturized, especially with ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid, lactic acid, vitamin C, and ceramides. These skin-loving ingredients will help keep your skin firm, supple, and glowing.

Need a great moisturizer? Try Environ’s Antioxidant Defense Creme, an ultra-moisturizing cream that contains antioxidants and peptides for smooth, more radiant skin.

Once A Month Skin Rejuvenation Treatment

To make sure that your products are able to do their jobs to the fullest of their abilities, once a month, come into the office for skin rejuvenation treatment with me. I offer treatments that will work with your products and routine at home:

Chemical Peels: Chemicals Peels are a great way to exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells that appear as dry skin and allow your products to reach deeper into your skin’s layering rather than sitting directly on top.

Laser Facial Rejuvenation: I use a state-of-the-art laser facial rejuvenation to help produce more collagen, smooth texturization, dark spots, and wrinkles for skin that glows from within.
