For many adolescents and young adults, acne is a huge problem. It may make people feel self-conscious and will give them a less than happy feeling about their appearance. This problem starts showing up at the worst of time in a person’s development – puberty. If that is not bad enough, it can leave scars that will last a lifetime.
Acne occurs when the follicle in the skin is inflamed. The inflammation is due to an increased production of sebum and the growth of Cutibacterium acnes in the follicle. There are many topical and oral treatments for this, such as Retin-A, Benzoyl peroxide, Antibiotics and more. Still, people are left with the signs of how bad their acne had been and the oily skin that caused the issue.

There are two procedures that can help with the acne scars and oily skin. Acne can be treated with Sublative Laser therapy by Candela, a light therapy that disrupts the follicle and helps skin regrown and remove the scars. After 5 treatments, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, people see a significant difference. The light therapy will also decrease recurrence of acne, provided an ongoing daily cleansing regimen is maintained. Down time for a procedure like this is 2 to 5 days depending on the intensity of the treatment.
To decrease the oil and close the pores, MicroBotox® is the best way. MicroBotox® is a form of microdermabrasion using Botox®. The Botox® is introduced subcutaneously, therefore it will not cause the inability to move muscles as regular Botox® does. By placing the Botox® subcutaneously the pores are able to close and the sebum production is halted.
Opting for both treatments is ideal for clearing the acne and scarring and ensuring it does not come back. Here at Eros Beauty and Wellness we offer both procedures, along with consultation for the treatment of acne with topical or oral medication.
