If you have been looking into aesthetic procedures to help smooth your skin of past scars, your search could be over with sublative rejuvenation. I am a locally trained family physician, Dr. Christine Eros, and I provide innovative, state-of-the-art treatments at my clinic Eros Beauty and Wellness in San Diego. One innovative treatment that I’ve been using on my patients to help treat past scarring includes sublative rejuvenation. This quick, painless procedure can help you achieve the results you desire without invasive surgery or procedures. Below, we will look at how this procedure works, what it is, and what to expect from the recovery.

What Is Sublative Rejuvenation?

Sublative rejuvenation is a laser treatment that uses radiofrequency to correct various skin issues, including wrinkles, scarring, texture, and overall quality of the skin. Sublative offers deeper penetration of the skin than other skin treatments, allowing for healing to reach underlying areas and spur new collagen production. It’s also significantly less invasive than other laser treatments, so your recovery time will be much quicker.

How Does Sublative Rejuvenation Work?

We can perform sublative treatment with or without numbing cream depending on your preference. The fractionated therapy normally requires five 30-minute treatments spaced four weeks apart.

During your sublative rejuvenation treatment, bipolar radio frequency energy moves through the deeper layers of skin via a matrix through a special tip on the machine’s applicator. This method destroys the targeted skin, while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. Sublative rejuvenation prompts the surrounding skin to begin assisting in healing the treated skin, inducing collagen production during the healing process.

What Does Sublative Treat?

At Eros Beauty and Wellness, our fractional device delivers bipolar fractionated radiofrequency to treat various skin conditions, including acne scarring, age spots, skin texture and tautness, fine lines, moderate wrinkles, and pigmentation issues. Sublative can also treat stretch marks. With sublative rejuvenation, my patients experience minimal downtime compared to other similar procedures, and see an overall improvement in not only their skin’s appearance, but also its tightness and texture. We can complete treatments on your face, around your eyes, and on your chest. The radiofrequency and optical energy stimulate collagen and hydrate sun-damaged skin. It’s an ideal procedure for any skin type.

What Is the Recovery Like For Sublative Rejuvenation?

Sublative rejuvenation requires very little downtime — most of my patients can return to their daily activities immediately following their treatment. The first two days after undergoing sublative, you may experience mild redness and swelling followed by dryness and light flaking of the top layer of your skin. It may leave red marks on the skin that generally last a couple of days with mild swelling. It is crucial to continue your regular skin care routine and apply daily sun protection.
