Fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and enlarged pores are among the top skin concerns I hear about from patients because of how difficult they are to treat and reduce at home. As a board-certified family physician at Eros Beauty and Wellness, I’ve trained in various skincare solutions, and the one I have found most effective at treating these skin concerns is sublative rejuvenation. Here is why it is a leader in providing a smooth, beautiful complexion.
What Is Sublative Rejuvenation?
Sublative rejuvenation uses radiofrequency energy, rather than a laser, to effectively treat and restore that appearance of aging or damaged skin. The sublative rejuvenation system delivers tiny blasts of radiofrequency, triggering a collagen response in the skin, which improves its tone. Collagen is a protein found naturally in the human body and is responsible for the strength and health of your skin. As we age, collagen production dramatically decreases, but we can replace it through state-of-the-art skincare methods such as sublative rejuvenation.
What Does Sublative Rejuvenation Treat?
Some of the other skin care treatments I offer at Eros Beauty and Wellness are specific to one skin issue. sublative skin rejuvenation treatment provides a solution for a range of skin concerns: hyperpigmentation, vascular lesions, rosacea, sun or age spots, spider veins, wrinkles, texture irregularities, enlarged pores, and acne. By combining the powers of intense pulsed light and bipolar radiofrequency, sublative rejuvenation can reach deep into the dermis of your skin to isolate and treat a specific pigmented area without harming the surrounding skin.
What to Expect From a Sublative Rejuvenation Session
One of the first questions my patients ask about sublative rejuvenation is “Will it hurt?” The answer is that every patient experiences something different. One might feel a small amount of discomfort, while others report they didn’t feel a thing. The intensive pulsed light delivers energy deep into the dermis where energy passes through in various streams, in a grid-like pattern, deep into the tissues. Then, I introduce heat induction; however, there is no damage or heat on the surface because I apply a topical anesthetic containing tetracaine and lidocaine before your treatment to minimize any discomfort.
Because there is no downtime associated with sublative rejuvenation, you can safely return to your daily life immediately post-treatment. A sensation akin to a mild sunburn may be present for the first 24 hours, but it generally calms down quickly. You can also continue your regular skincare and makeup routine. Post-treatment, I insist every patient incorporate an SPF into their daily routine, if you don’t already, because sublative treatment can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
