Botox® in San Diego
Botox® is a neuromodulator used to block nerve signals to the muscles that cause lines and expression wrinkles. It’s possible to treat several areas of the face to help relax these lines. Over time, the wrinkles become less pronounced. Botox® treatment can last between three to four months.
Treatment areas include forehead wrinkles, bunny lines, crow’s feet around the eyes, eyebrow lift, TMJ pain, and chin dimples.
Dr. Eros injects Botox® with a small, fine needle, giving just the right amount to the problem areas. You might start seeing results in as few as three days, but more commonly, it takes 10 days to appreciate the full effect.
We are excited to offer this amazing new method to shrink pores, diminish acne, and remove fine lines on the face. Unlike regular Botox® injections, Micro-Botox® does not go to the muscle. A group of thin needles delivers the product to the sub-dermal layer of the skin. This delivery method allows Dr. Eros to inject it in any part of the face without causing weakness to the muscles. It is also painless. The amount of Botox® is enough to close pores and decrease acne production. It will give you a healthy, well-rested look.
What can I expect from Botox® in San Diego?
Dr. Eros injects Botox® into the problem areas with a fine needle that is almost painless. The most common side effect is bruising.
What is the downtime?
There is minimal, if any, downtime needed after Botox® injections. You can have the procedure done and immediately resume your normal activities. We do ask that you refrain from heavy lifting and bending over for four hours after the injection.
Is Botox® safe?
You might have heard that Botox® comes from a toxin and wondered if it was safe to use. The truth is that, when you choose a skilled injector, there is little to no danger of getting Botox®. There are two reasons for this: The dosage is far too small to be toxic, and the product never goes near your bloodstream.
In 2002, Botox® received its first FDA approval for cosmetic use after a series of thorough trials proved how safely and effectively it could smooth out moderate to deep “11 lines” between the eyebrows. In 2013, the FDA granted Botox® additional approval for treating crow’s feet. The momentum continued in 2017 when Botox® passed all clinical trials for its third cosmetic indication: forehead furrows. Today, Botox® remains the only medication that is FDA-approved for all three categories of wrinkles.
Are there any side effects of Botox®?
When you trust an experienced Botox® provider such as Dr. Eros to perform your injections, there are minimal risks to worry about. However, it’s essential to point out that you should only get Botox® under the care of a licensed medical professional who knows how to reduce potential side effects such as:
- Headache or flu-like symptoms
- Asymmetrical eyebrows or drooping eyelids
- Pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site
- Dry eyes or excessive tearing
The body eliminates Botox® after four months, when all effects resolve.
How much does Botox® cost in San Diego?
Botox® cost is per unit, so the most important consideration affecting your total price tag is how many units you will need to achieve your desired results. After consulting with you in person and asking you about your concerns, Dr. Eros will be able to provide you with a more accurate estimate of how much your Botox® treatments might cost.
Will my health insurance pay for my Botox® injections?
Botox® does have a range of non-aesthetic uses, such as helping with migraine pain, involuntary muscle twitches, and excessive sweating. However, if you are getting Botox® for purely cosmetic reasons, like resolving forehead furrows and crow’s feet, your health insurance provider will likely not offset any of the cost of your San Diego Botox® treatments.
